Toppers Recommend PMF IAS
I have prepared by myself with the help of standard books & Internet. For Geography, I didn't buy any book & started making notes topic wise from the Internet. Every topic like Plains, Plateaus, Himalayas led me to the same Page, "PMF IAS", where I got the content comprehensively. I was astonished! I immediately bought the subscription & read & reread the entire notes. It was pure joy. I never thought geography would be so interesting to read. I remember thinking of geography as rote learning subject to memorize names. But it is conceptual..! The concepts of landscape formations, why the Himalayas don't have volcanoes, why deserts are on a specific side of coasts etc., are clear to me now. Complex topics like jet streams, Monsoons are spoon-fed in an easy to understand way.
Environment notes are so picturesque & filled with maps for easy data retention. Agriculture helped me solve many Q in prelims. Science & Technology was helpful too. The icing on the cake is the videos on YouTube, current affairs notes and recently released hardcopy books as a one-stop solution.
I want to wholeheartedly thank Manjunath Thamminidi Sir for replying to my queries and the whole team PMF IAS for their constant efforts to create these masterpiece notes. It has already helped a lot of rankers and will continue to help future aspirants become rankers.
I am Arpit Gupta from Patiala, Punjab. I have scored AIR-300 in CSE 2018 exam with geography optional. I have been watching PMF IAS videos and following the printed notes since 2016. I would like to say a big THANK YOU to you for providing online videos as well as the material for geography as well as environment notes for general studies.
The videos and the environment notes helped me understand some complex topics, and since it was available as a soft copy, it helped with easy revision as I could read it on my tablet while on the move.
The dirt-cheap rate of material surprised me when I first visited your site in 2015. I was sceptical of it and thought it would be of no good.
But, since it was so cheap, I thought to give it a try. I am glad that I did. The material is exhaustive, and I fell in love with the maps and illustrations. Also, the previous years’ questions have been discussed in detail, which help you understand the nature of the environment questions being asked.
For the environment, I did not rely on any outside source and followed your notes only, and I dare say that it was more than sufficient and perhaps exceeds what UPSC may ask.
Much Thanks and gratitude to you for your selfless work. You truly are Poor Man’s Friend.
Hi. This is Rushikesh, AIR 555, CSE 2014. When it comes to geography, there is no source in the market which can cover it thoroughly as PMF IAS. All sources, including the NCERT, are half baked, limited and unclear with many explanations.
PMF IAS notes are excellent material for anyone who wants to get hold of this subject. It has way too many diagrams, figures, and maps to explain concepts and phenomenons. It's in lucid and understandable language.
I always struggled with geography till I got hold of this material. After studying this, I suggested many of my friends buy this online. It's simply because the cost is not prohibitive, rather student-friendly.
Secondly, once you understand the amount of effort put into creating this masterpiece, you will appreciate the value of buying this one.
Thirdly, notes are frequently updated according to current trends.
It is indeed a one-stop solution for prelims and mains. You can undoubtedly ignore all other material, including NCERT, if you study this one.
I stumbled across PMFIAS through Google, and since then, it has become my go-to website for any geography-related search.
Not only its coverage is vast and exhaustive, but the explanations are simply fantastic. Even the most complicated of the concepts in Climatology are explained really well. And the best part is, of course, the associated diagrams.
I highly recommend PMF IAS. Take some time to go through the excellent videos on its youtube channel as well.
PS: I have not gone through the entire notes. Because I had already prepared them through NCERT, but whatever concepts I had to search for additionally, it was present in PMF notes, and I was more than satisfied.
I want to thank PMF IAS for being a very reliable source for Geography throughout my preparation.
I found geography the most challenging subject, and PMF notes were quite lucid and brought a lot of clarity which helped me both in prelims and mains.
I did not refer to any other source other than PMF IAS in both my attempts, and their updation of material was also a big help.
Thank you, PMF IAS
